The Pearl Chamber of Commerce February Business of the Month is ProTel, Inc., founded in 1998 by Karen Roberts of Pearl. ProTel is a locally owned and operated family business that provides call center services to medical, commercial and professional clients. They offer a professional, courteous and well trained call center staff that is available 24/7 for live agent support, emergency dispatch, customer services lines, consult, trauma and stroke lines and dispatch services. They also specialize in virtual receptionists, appointment scheduling and confirmation, secure messaging app and order entry. We are pleased to announce that Bouquets of Pearl was chosen as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month in January. They are located at 433 N. Bierdeman Road in the Heart of Pearl Shopping Center. The owner, Pam Powell is an FTD Master Florist and has been a florist for 39 years. She got her start at Greenbrook Flowers where she worked for many years and then was at Lady Bug Florist for 15 years. Bouquets of Pearl is a member of the popular wire services Teleflora and Bloomnet and is also the floral provider for the gift shop at St. Dominic’s Hospital. They have a very unique line of “The Two of Us Pottery” that is made in Mississippi and they also have a good variety of Yankee Candles, stuffed animals and great items for gift baskets. Bouquets specializes in flowers for funerals, weddings, birthday, Valentine’s Day or any special occasion. They deliver anywhere in the Metro area and go to all area hospitals and funeral homes. Moss Creek Fish House, located at 413 Riverwind Drive in Pearl was selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce December Business of the Month. Moss Creek has been an active community partner and chamber supporter since they opened in July 2012. They specialize in U.S. Farm Raised catfish and seafood. From the pond to your plate, the catfish that is served at Moss Creek is always fresh and never frozen. All of the cole slaw, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, turnip greens, hush puppies, alfredo sauce for their chicken alfredo and other homemade items are made fresh daily. One of the specialties is their delicious homemade gumbo, served by the bowl or can be ordered for take-out in larger quantities. They are one of the only restaurants in this area that serves thin and crispy fried catfish. Moss Creek has a variety of homemade desserts including their famous pecan cobbler. They can cater events both small and large and they have a separate dining room that is available for private parties. MedScreens Inc. was selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce November Business of the Month. They are located at 3825 Hwy 80 East in Pearl and locally owned and operated by Karen and Mike Crawford. MedScreens is an active community partner and they are a proud sponsor of the Police and Firefighter of the Month Awards. MedScreens performs services such as drug, alcohol, DNA and paternity testing for companies and individuals as well as courts, attorneys, state and county agencies and private investigators. The Justin Null Alfa Insurance Agency opened in Pearl in 2011 at 3823 Hwy 80 East at College Crossing, located near Hinds Community College. Justin is very involved in the community and is an active chamber member as well as being a corporate sponsor for Pearl High School Football.  Alfa Insurance offers a wide variety of insurance plans including those that most other insurance companies won’t insure such as log cabin homes, homes that are over 5 miles from a fire station, high risk customers with a poor driving record, a large claim history or DUI convictions.  The name Alfa came from their origin, which was the Alabama Farmer’s Association. The Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month in August is BancorpSouth, located at 2301 Hwy. 80 East in Pearl. They have been serving their communities since 1876 and the city of Pearl since 1986. BancorpSouth is headquartered in Tupelo, Mississippi with $13.6 billion in assets. Chris Walker is the Branch Manager and Loan Officer at BancorpSouth and also serves as an Ambassador of the Pearl Chamber of Commerce as well as being an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Pearl. In addition, BancorpSouth also contributes to the community with the “Teaching Kids to Save” program at our local schools and sponsors Pearl Chamber Commerce and Kiwanis events as well. They are truly an integral part of the City of Pearl and the Pearl Chamber of Commerce. Patrick Farms Golf Club was selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for June, 2015. Patrick Farms was established in 1999 by Randy Watkins. Under the umbrella of the Randy Watkins Golf Group, Patrick Farms welcomes public play while valuing private memberships. In January, Patrick Farms added PGA Director of Golf; Chip Sullivan. The Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month in May is O! How Cute Gift Market, located in Riverwind East Shopping Center and also a new location at the Outlets of Mississippi. O! How Cute opened its doors 5 years ago at the Pearl location and has always been a great community partner as well as an active chamber member. O! How Cute is one of the participants in the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Girl’s Night Out Fashion Show in August. They promote Mississippi products and many handmade one of a kind items. They specialize in trendy and affordable gifts, gourmet foods, home décor, jewelry, kids & ladies clothing and shoes. Rhodes Chiropractic Clinic was selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month in April. Dr. Warren Rhodes opened his office in Pearl in 1995 in the Westbury Square Shopping Center on Pearson Road and then later moved to the current location at 2815 Old Brandon Road. Dr. Rhodes prides himself in promoting high school football and powerlifting throughout the state. Dr. Rhodes spends his Tuesday and Thursday afternoons mentoring to local high school students. He is also a longtime supporter of the Pearl Police Department, the city of Pearl and the Pearl Chamber of Commerce.
