Officer of the Month

We are proud to announce that the Pearl Police Department Officer of the Month is Detective Reynaldo Olivio. After graduating from Poth High School in Texas in 1999, he joined the United States Marine Corp and began his law enforcement career at the Carthage Police Department in 2006 and later moved to the Flowood Police Department and was promoted to Detective in 2018. Reynaldo began working at Pearl PD in 2019 as a Patrolman and was promoted to Detective in the Criminal Investigation Division in August 2020. Rey has been involved in several major cases since he has been with Pearl PD and most recently a case that involved multiple auto burglaries at a local retail business.
On August 3, 2021 patrol officers with Pearl PD received a call in reference to an auto burglary. When the patrol officer arrived on scene, he was advised that there was more than one vehicle that had been burglarized. The patrol officer requested a detective to the scene. Detective Olivo responded. Detective Olivo along with others processed the scene and collected all evidence. The next day Detective Olivo and others were able to locate and arrest two suspects in the burglaries. Due to Detective Olivo’s initiative and resourcefulness, the suspected thieves were detained within one day. Detective Olivo is a valuable asset to the PD and with this special recognition we would like to thank him for his dedication and service to the city of Pearl and the Pearl Police Department.
