Firefighter of the Month

We are proud to announce that the Pearl Fire Department Firefighter of the Month is Captain James McGraw. James began his career with the Pearl Fire Department on November 20, 2004. Over the years, James has shown his heart for helping his fellow man in the way he carries himself while at PFD and on his days away. He has amassed over 1000 hours of continuing training from the MS State Fire Academy with the most recent being a new pilot program for Advance EMT where he finished in the top few of his class. James was promoted to Lieutenant on January 12, 2009 and then to Captain on June 24, 2016. Throughout his career with PFD, Captain McGraw has taken it upon himself to help train new firefighters as well as help with the training of new Driver Operators. Captain McGraw has been and will continue to be a vital piece of the puzzle at the Pearl Fire Department. On his days off from PFD, Captain McGraw has also served as a pastor of a local Methodist Church for the last 3 years.
James is a graduate of McLaurin High School and is married to Amanda McGraw. He has three children Kaley (17), Mason (12), and Wyatt (7). We are pleased to have Captain McGraw as a part of this City and PFD and want to thank him for his dedication and service.
The Pearl Chamber of Commerce presented Captain McGraw with a framed certificate, a $100 Walmart Gift Card, a Gift Basket from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store along with a certificate for a meal for two people and a $20 Gift Certificate from Frisco Deli. Steak 'n Shake donated a $25 Gift Card; McAlister's Deli donated a Dinner For Two; Tony's Fish house donated a Meal For Two; The Pearl Municipal Federal Credit Union donated a $25 Visa Gift Card; Eclipse Nutrition donated a certificate for 5 FREE shakes; Great American Cookies donated a chocolate chip cookie cake and Revell Ace Hardware-Pearl donated a stainless steel tumbler.
