We are proud to announce that the Firefighter of the Month is Captain BJ Wells. BJ began his career at the Pearl Fire Department August 2003 making this month his 23rd anniversary. He is a Pearl High School graduate and attended Hinds Community College where he received his EMT certification. BJ has acquired over 1000 hours at the Mississippi State Fire Academy and is a valuable asset to the Department due to his knowledge and experience. BJ was promoted to Lieutenant in November 2014 and to Captain August 2023. Captain Wells leads by example investing in his crew to ensure that they are prepared, equipped and trained at the highest level. He works tirelessly to provide them with the knowledge, tools and support that they need to succeed. Captain Wells is trusted and respected by his peers and is a valued member of the Pearl Fire Department family. Captain Wells is married to his wife Emily and is the proud dad to BreLynn and Mary Carter.
