A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Friday, October 21st in celebration of the new TelehealthOne Clinic at Fred’s Pharmacy in at 5760 Hwy 80 East in Pearl next door to Kroger. With the new service, a customer can privately consult with a Pharmacy Tech about their health issue just as they would at a doctor’s office. The Pharmacy Tech will check all of their vitals and enter them into the system along with insurance and other pertinent information. They will then be connected to a Nurse Practitioner through a Skype type device and a diagnosis can be made through a visual and audio. If a prescription is necessary, Fred’s Pharmacy will fill it within 15 – 30 minutes. No appointment is necessary and most insurance is accepted. Copay is similar to a primary care doctor visit. Common conditions treated include pink eye, sinus infections, strep throat, ear aches, ear infections, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, urinary tract infections and many more common conditions. If the nurse practitioner finds that the patient needs to go to a doctor’s office or emergency room they will advise them to do so. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pictured cutting the ribbon is TelehealthOne Consultant Robyn Pollack.
